Read this if you want to know what chairscape.com does with data. Chairscape publishes Chairscape, and this page covers collection, use, sharing, and your options.
Partners and Providers
Several providers may be involved in delivering chairscape.com — hosting, analytics, email delivery, and advertising networks. Where a provider determines its own purposes (advertising and analytics vendors typically do), it is an independent controller and its policy governs what it does.
What You Can Ask For
Subject to your location, you may request access to your data, its correction or deletion, a portable copy, or restriction of its use, and you may opt out of sale or sharing for advertising. These entitlements flow from the UK/EU GDPR and from US state law including the CCPA/CPRA. Global Privacy Control signals are respected automatically. See our State Privacy Notice and Do Not Sell or Share.
How We Use It
Purposes are limited to running and improving chairscape.com, measuring traffic in aggregate, delivering email that has been opted into, and supporting any advertising displayed on the site.
Newsletter Handling
Nobody joins the list without confirming from their own inbox. Once on it, you can leave via the unsubscribe link in any email, and we include our postal address in every send as the law requires. The list is not sold or shared.
Age Restrictions
This site is written for adults. It is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 where local law sets that threshold), we do not knowingly collect data from them, and if we learn we have, we delete it.
Keeping and Protecting Data
We hold data only as long as the purpose requires. Subscriber records end at unsubscribe; comments end at deletion; analytics follow the retention window of whichever provider is in use. Safeguards include access control and transport encryption. We cannot guarantee absolute security, and we do not claim to.
Categories of Data
Visiting chairscape.com may generate ordinary technical information — IP address, browser and device type, referring page, and the pages opened. Anything you type in yourself, such as an email address for the newsletter or a name against a comment, is collected only because you chose to provide it.
- Worth saying outright, since it is the question we get asked: we ask readers not to send us sensitive personal details, and we delete rather than retain anything of that kind that reaches us unprompted.
Storage on Your Device
- See the Cookie Policy for the categories of cookie involved and the controls available to you.
